Le Puit de Laurie '24
Grenache Noir | Banyuls-sur-Mer, France
- Notes
Banyuls as It Should Be. From Roussillon's Most Exciting Natural Producer.
Bruno Duchêne is one of the most compelling voices in the natural wine world — a former sommelier who left Paris for the dramatic schist terraces of Banyuls-sur-Mer, where he farms old-vine Grenache on some of the most vertiginous and unforgiving terrain in France. His wines are precise, soulful, and deeply rooted in place.
Le Puit de Laurie is his Banyuls — a fortified sweet wine made from Grenache grown on the ancient black schist soils that tumble down toward the Mediterranean. This is not a heavy, cloying dessert wine. In Duchêne's hands, Banyuls is something altogether more alive: rich and sweet, yes, but with a saline, mineral tension and a freshness that keeps you reaching for another sip.
