Pan! Le Blanc Vin des Allobroges IGP '24

Altesse, Jacquere | Savoie, France

$66.00

Domaine Les Aricoques is a small natural producer working in Savoie — a mountain wine region whose indigenous varieties and alpine terroir produce wines of remarkable freshness, precision, and personality that remain largely unknown outside France. Pan Le Blanc is their white: a négoce blend of 65% Altesse and 35% Jacquère, sourced from two certified organic growers in the region — Sébastien Thevenet in Chautagne, and Vincent Gateau in Abymes.

Altesse — also known as Roussette de Savoie — is one of Savoie's most noble and age-worthy white varieties, producing wines of real aromatic complexity and structure: apricot, hawthorn, honey, and a mineral, almost stony quality that reflects the alpine soils. Jacquère is the more abundant and immediately charming variety — lighter, crisper, and more floral, with bright citrus and green apple character and the high natural acidity that comes from growing grapes close to the Alps. Together they make a wine that is both serious and eminently drinkable: textured and aromatic from the Altesse, fresh and lively from the Jacquère, and unified by the clean mountain character that defines the best of Savoie. Drink it with alpine charcuterie, raclette, grilled trout, or soft cheese.
