Made of grapes from 80-100 year old vine which are trained in the "Maggiorina" system (a vine is planted and surrounded by 4 stakes which new growth is then tied to to form a sort of pergola system), hence the name. From high altitude vineyards between 400m and 450m, south facing slopes, and volcanic soil.

Nothing added but minimal amounts of sulphur. Notes of red berries, violet flowers, pepper, tobacco, smoke and spice. Framed by smooth tannins and fresh acidity.
