Les Monts Bourgueil '25

Bourgueil is one of the Loire Valley's great red appellations — a small enclave on the north bank of the Loire in Touraine where Cabernet Franc produces wines of remarkable elegance, freshness, and longevity. The "Monts" of Bourgueil refer to the hillside parcels above the alluvial plain, where the tuffeau and clay soils give the wines more structure and depth than those grown on the sandy gravels closer to the river. It's the part of the appellation where the most serious, age-worthy wines come from.

Barc & Vallée farm biodynamically and work with minimal intervention in the cellar, letting the Cabernet Franc express the cool-climate character of the Loire without interference. The 2025 is everything you want from this appellation: bright, precise, and aromatic, with the variety's signature notes of red currant, violet, graphite, and fresh herbs, a silky texture, and a long, mineral finish.
