Lapsang Souchong Wuyi Cliff Tea Chocolate

Sweet pine smoke meets dark chocolate in Fossa’s Lapsang Souchong Wuyi Cliff Tea bar. Ripe-fruit notes and resinous undertones give the smoky character more to explore than a simple campfire impression. Made in Singapore, it brings tea leaves into a recipe of cacao, cane sugar, and cacao butter: two ingredients with their own rich aromatic worlds, sharing one bar.

Lapsang Souchong is a black tea associated with the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian, China, and its smoked style is known for a distinctive pine-smoke aroma. In this chocolate, that tea character makes the pairing part of the bar itself, rather than something you need to brew alongside it. Break off a small piece and let it melt slowly, following the smoke, fruit, and resinous notes as they unfold.

For a side-by-side pairing, try an unsweetened black tea, or keep things simple with buttery shortbread and a few toasted nuts. It also makes an interesting finish to a cheese board with a nutty aged cheese.
