Hélène Charbaut is a small grower-producer making some of the most quietly compelling Champagne in the region — a domaine built on old vines, precise farming, and a winemaking philosophy that prioritises expression over intervention. La Crayère is her prestige cuvée: a wine named for the chalk — la crayère, the deep chalk cellars and the chalky subsoil that define the finest Champagne terroirs — and a direct statement of what the domaine is capable of at its most ambitious.

Chalk is the foundation of great Champagne: it drains freely, retains moisture at depth, forces roots down in search of water and minerals, and imparts the distinctive mineral tension and fine, persistent mousse that distinguishes the best wines of the region from everything else. La Crayère is an expression of that chalk at its most concentrated and pure — a Blanc de Blancs Champagne of extraordinary precision, depth, and length.
