Echemo Whole Bean Coffee
Light Roast | Oslo, Norway
- Notes
Tim Wendelboe is one of the most influential figures in modern specialty coffee — a Norwegian barista champion, roaster, and coffee farmer whose Oslo roastery has been setting the standard for Scandinavian coffee culture since 2007. His approach is defined by an obsessive focus on quality at origin, minimal roasting intervention, and long-standing direct relationships with the producers he works with. This is coffee roasted with nothing to prove and everything to express.
Echemo is a washing station in the Gedeo Zone of southern Ethiopia — a region that sits within the Yirgacheffe area, widely considered one of the greatest coffee-growing zones in the world. Ethiopian coffee from this part of the country is defined by its extraordinary aromatic complexity: the high altitude, ancient heirloom varieties, and careful wet processing produce coffees of a floral, fruit-forward character unlike anything grown elsewhere. Expect jasmine, bergamot, stone fruit, and a clean, tea-like quality that speaks directly to the altitude and the care with which the coffee was harvested and processed. In Tim Wendelboe’s hands, lightly roasted to preserve every nuance the origin offers, Echemo is a coffee of exceptional clarity and elegance. Brew it as a filter to let the aromatics open up fully, and drink it without milk — this is a coffee that asks to be tasted.
