Frileuse ‘23
Sauv Blanc Blend | Loire Valley, France
- Notes
A White Wine of Rare Complexity
Frileuse is Clos de Tue-Boeuf's quietly stunning white — a field-blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Chardonnay, and Menu Pineau grown in the Cheverny appellation of the Loire Valley. The name, meaning "chilly one," hints at the cool, mineral tension that defines this wine.
Farmed organically and biodynamically, the vines yield grapes of exceptional character. Spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention in the cellar allow the blend's natural aromatics and textural depth to emerge without interference.
Tasting Notes
Bright and precise on the nose with white peach, grapefruit zest, and a flinty, saline edge. The palate is taut and refreshing with a creamy mid-palate from the Chardonnay and Menu Pineau, finishing long and mineral. At 12.5% ABV, it's elegant without being austere.
