Bandol Vespree '23
Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault | Provence, France
- Notes
Domaine Pradeaux is one of Bandol's most storied estates — a family domaine that has been making wine in the appellation since 1752, farming the same sun-drenched limestone terraces above the Mediterranean with the same commitment to Mourvèdre that has defined Bandol for centuries. The Vesprée is their rosé: a wine named for the evening light that falls across the vineyards at dusk, and it carries that warm and luminous quality.
Made predominantly from Mourvèdre with Grenache and Cinsault, the Vesprée '23 is a serious Bandol rosé in the best sense — not the pale, delicate style of Provence's lighter appellations, but something with more weight, more texture, and more to say. Expect ripe strawberry and wild garrigue on the nose, a full, almost saline mid-palate, and a long, mineral finish that lingers. Pair it with grilled fish, bouillabaisse, lamb chops, or a cheese board anchored by aged Comté or Manchego. Serve well chilled.
