Galinas Y Focas '18

4 Kilos is a winery started by two childhood friends, Francesc and Sergio. The number refers to $35000.00, or 4 Million Pesetas, which is only how much money they had when they started the winery. They farm and work in Mallorca, Spain and their mission is just to show us how beautiful wines from this region can be… and every time we open one of these bottles we realize how right they are. 

"Galinas y Focas" translates to- "Hens and Seals", and is a wine produced in collaboration with the Amandip Esment Foundation which supports adults and children with physical and learning difficulties in their home of Mallorca.

The grape here is Mantonegro, which you aren't alone in not knowing - it brings us a wine that is bright, lifted, and very aromatic with integrated acidity. It's been aged 6 months in foudre, 12 in barrel, 6 months in bottle and likely not long on the Good Cheese shelves as we are tempted to drink 'em ourselves.
