Roc Breia Mâcon-Villages '24
Chardonnay | Mâcon-Villages AOC, Burgundy, France
- Notes
Théo Dancer is one of the most exciting young vignerons in Burgundy — a domaine in Chassagne-Montrachet that has drawn serious attention for its precise, terroir-driven approach across a range that spans the Mâconnais to the Côte de Beaune. Roc Breia is their Mâcon-Villages: a wine from the southern reaches of Burgundy where Chardonnay finds a warmer, more generous expression without sacrificing the precision and mineral clarity that define the region at its best.
The Mâconnais is a part of Burgundy that rewards attention — and a producer like Dancer makes a compelling case for why. Roc Breia is fermented and raised with care in a way that keeps the focus squarely on the site and the vintage: the 2024 growing season brought excellent natural acidity and a freshness that makes this wine particularly lively and precise. Expect ripe stone fruit — white peach, apricot — alongside a clean, stony minerality and the kind of textured, saline finish that separates serious Mâcon from the ordinary. At this price point in the Dancer range, it is a genuine expression of Burgundian Chardonnay from a domaine worth following closely.
