Valrhona’s Guanaja is a 70% single-origin grand cru bar made from a blend of fine Trinitario and Criollo cacao beans — a benchmark of French chocolate making that has been setting the standard for professional pastry chefs and serious chocolate lovers since its creation in 1986.
Named after the island of Guanaja off the coast of Honduras — where Christopher Columbus first encountered cacao — this bar is intensely bitter, deeply complex, and extraordinarily long in the finish. Notes of roasted coffee, dried fruit, and a subtle floral bitterness that evolves as it melts. Not a chocolate for the faint-hearted: this is dark chocolate at its most uncompromising, and one of the finest 70% bars available anywhere.
