You could also call the wines of Verdicchio di Matelica "Liquid History" as they say this is what the Visigoths fueled up on before marching on Rome. The wines of Verdicchio di Matelica have never really been on our radar before Stefano Zoli opened my eyes to them, they have this nice almond quality we love, alongside just a touch of herbal bitterness, citrus and white florals. Honestly, the wines kind of remind us of old school Chablis before climate change impacted the region.
