Barolo '21

Barolo is the king of Italian wine — and Podere Gagliassi is one of the Langhe's most quietly compelling producers. Farmed organically on the rolling hills of Piemonte, their Barolo is made from Nebbiolo grown on the region's distinctive mix of Tortonian and Helvetian soils, each lending a different dimension to the wine's formidable structure.

The 2021 vintage was a warm, dry year that produced wines of exceptional concentration and early approachability — rare for Barolo, which typically demands years of patience. This is a wine that rewards both the cellar and the table in equal measure.

Deep garnet in the glass with an orange rim. The nose is classic Nebbiolo — dried rose, tar, wild cherry, and a whisper of tobacco and leather. On the palate it's full-bodied and structured, with firm but polished tannins, bright acidity, and a long, savoury finish that lingers well past the last sip.
