These two from different hemispheres have an unconventional connection.
Grenache is originally a Spanish grape but our favourite in the store right now is from Australia. A classic hot climate wine, Grenache has notes of spicy red fruit with mild tannin and acid levels. This grape needs a cheese with enough body to support it's weight, she's emotional and flighty and needs her partner to be an anchor. Enter Red Fox, a Welsh cheese with rich salted caramel notes this cheese makes for a very interesting couple. Red Leicester is aged and tangy but with enough body and depth to stand up to Grenache's spiciness and bring out some darker black fruit notes. Tastes like home.
